The Wii U’s launch has had it’s surprises, some expected and some unexpected. Most everyone expected a long initial day one update, but no one expected some players would accidentally hack into Miiverse and gain access to the moderator control panel.
One NeoGAF forum user did just that, and stumbled upon a list of Wii U games. Most were already released, but a few were definitely out of place, like a certain listing for Yoshi’s Land.
Nintendo first claimed that the list of games was only used as a debugging tool, suggesting that no one take the list seriously. However, the game Yoshi’s Land is now making appearances on major retail websites, like Best Buy and Future Shop, available for preorder. The game’s release is even given as December 31, 2013.
According to the Future Shop listing, this next installment in the Yoshi series will take full advantage of the Wii U’s capabilities.
“Join everyone’s favorite dinosaur in his first big starring role on Nintendo Wii U – Yoshi’s Land. Utilize the power of the Wii U Touchscreen GamePad to enjoy dual-screen fun in this epic adventure with stunning HD graphics and connectivity with the MiiVerse.”
This new information on Yoshi’s Land is exciting news. Although we can’t be sure of the release date just yet, we now know for sure that a Yoshi game will be arriving on the Wii U soon.
