New Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition Video Shows Off Exclusive Wii U Features

The Wii U gamepad is unique in the aspect that it gives great freedom to game developers. As the Wii U launch date nears, it’s becoming more and more thrilling to see the Wii U gamepad’s true capabilities.

Batman: Arkham City: Armored Edition stands out as one of the Wii U launch games that takes full advantage of the gamepad’s features, specifically the second screen. In this newly released official trailer we can definitely see why.

In this edition of Batman: Arkham City, you can use the Wii U gamepad to instantly access the Bat Computer, upgrade armor, and search the information database on the fly.

The gamepad control scheme allows you to be even smarter about how you use your weapons and stealth. As the video shows, you can detonate explosive gel you’ve set, steer batarangs, and use sonar to find enemies via the gamepad.

Perhaps what is most interesting, however, is the gamepad’s role in detective mode. By moving the gamepad around the room, you can scan the environment and find the clues hidden from plain sight.

Another feature exclusive to the Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition is B.A.T. mode. By successfully landing the right blows in combat mode, you can fill the B.A.T. meter, and once the meter is full, you can select the option on the Wii U gamepad to make Batman fight even harder for a limited time.

Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition has been confirmed as a launch title, and we’re definitely looking forward playing this game.
